Road Racing

The Road program is one of the cornerstones of the Velocity Cycling Club.

Whether you are a casual pedaler or weekend warrior, becoming a member of the Velocity Cycling Club is an excellent way to enhance your enjoyment of the sport of cycling.

With a long history of promoting the sport of cycling in Edmonton, Velocity Cycling Club offers a variety of rides for cyclists of all abilities. In addition to weekly club rides in and around the Edmonton area (50 to 100 km in length), Members can participate in various skills camps and training sessions held throughout the year. Each spring, we hold our annual training camp in Penticton, British Columbia where riders shake off the rust and get ready for the upcoming racing season. On a more leisurely level, we hold a weekend long, family oriented climbing camp each June where members participate in rides along the Banff / Jasper Highway including climbs up to the Columbia Icefields, Sunwapta Pass and Bow Pass.

Riders looking for a more competitive cycling environment can join the Road Racing Team. The Team travels to Alberta Bicycle Association sanctioned races throughout the province as well as specifically selected races in Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and Nationals. All racers holding an A.B.A. license are eligible to receive reimbursement of race fees at A.B.A. and C.C.A sanctioned events.
